Yes, local residents will continue to enjoy free access to the public beach with an upgraded new walking path and new amenities. This convenient access point will feature new restrooms and outdoor showers. For those looking to experience all the amenities of Royal Beach Club℠ Cozumel, day passes will be available for purchase, providing full access to the pool, as well as the food and beverage offerings.
Royal Beach Club℠ Cozumel will be developed on the site of a previous beach club, reducing construction impacts from the very start. The project will introduce environmentally sustainable solutions — like a state-of-the-art reverse osmosis water plant that will provide 100% of the beach club’s fresh water, protecting local resources. To eliminate landfill waste, there will be no single-use plastics. Additionally, the coastline will be kept clear of litter and sargassum through protective cleanup efforts an independent Mexican firm will track and publicly report environmental performance — reinforcing our commitment to responsible, sustainable development across all destinations.
Royal Caribbean® will hire more than 700 employees to work in the beach club, in addition to working closely with local third-party operators to create jobs across the tourism, transportation and supply chain sectors.
